Hello! I am Shijie Yu, a transportation designer in Los Angeles.
I started my education in Electrical Engineering and focused on electric car research because of my passion in cars. I got my Master Degree in Imperial College London and UC Irvine in Control System and Power Electronics. During my time in England, I found out more about car design and decided to pursue my dream as a car designer.
Combination of practicability and aesthetics is the goal of my each design. Looking good is important for a design, but at the same time, I am also trying hard to come up with some creative solutions to help improve the user experience and solve problems. Because of my engineering background, I really care about how my design will look like in real world. So I tried hard to learn 3D software and really into the 3D modeling and animation making, which I think is a more direct way to show people my design idea.
